1. Donald Crisp had a long career that stretched back into the silent era. He played General Ulysses S. Grant in D. W. Griffith's The Birth of a Nation (1915) and won best supporting actor for How Green was my Valley (1941). In all, he was featured in more than 400 movies.
2. The dog's real name was Skippy and although never a household name like Lassie, he made plenty of movies. He's in Bringing Up Baby and most of all, stole the show from William Powell and Myrna Loy as Asta in The Thin Man.
